My apologies to Tim Tebow…
Let me start by apologizing and admitting that I was wrong by doubting Tim Tebow’s ability to become an NFL quarterback. I have been impressed by his attitude, work ethic and determination to prove doubters like myself wrong. As a life-long Bronco fan, I want nothing more than for Mr. Tebow to continue to prove me wrong and bring a championship to Denver. I truly hope that the new hierarchy at Dove Valley finds a coach that will embrace his unique skill set and design an offensive game plan around it. More importantly though, as we saw this entire year, is the need to shore up the defensive side of the football. Let that start by knocking on Champ Bailey’s door and begging his forgiveness for pulling their prior contract extension off the table. It would be a shame to see this future Hall of Famer finish out his career in any uniform other than a Bronco’s. While there are 2 potentially great corners in the upcoming draft, it would be a waste of the 2nd pick to use it on a cornerback when you have one of the greatest to ever play the game already in your locker room. The pick needs to be used on a stud defensive lineman that can either rush the passer or plug the middle and stop the run, neither of which happened during this dismal season. I have faith that the return of John Elway to the front office is the start of something special. His passion to succeed as a player and his love of the Broncos will certainly carry over into his new administrative role. Best of luck John, we are all pulling for you! Take advantage of the skill players you already have and address the glaring needs on defense and you will do fine.
